ICE SKATING LESSONS - Age 5 to Adult This program teaches beginner and intermediate skaters ages 5 to adult the skills and techniques of ice skating. Instruction focuses on Basic Skills of US Figure Skating and Learn to Skate USA: standing up, forward step and glide, turning, and more. Two certified instructors lead groups of new and returning skaters ready for Basic 2-4 and higher. Lessons feature 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of practice time. Exercises and games aim to develop each skater's balance, control, and comfort on the ice.  In 6-week sessions, each skater is encouraged and guided to move to higher levels of proficiency. Skating is not easy. Safety comes first. Helmets are strongly recommended. The instructors Matt Lieber and Marissa Fusco are accomplished skaters experienced and happy to work with learners of all levels.  The first half hour of each lesson is instruction.  The second half hour is a practice period.  Participants are also allowed to attend public skate at no charge immediately following their lesson.
